Etymology and meaning of MARWICK

Marwick is a Viking name found almost exclusively in Orkney and Shetland. It is neither Celtic nor Christian in origin, as it was brought by Pagan Norsemen. You state that it is Gaelic, which it isn't. I have Marwick ancestors and my family originated in Orkney. I'm not sure what it means, but the 'wick' bit should be pronounced 'vick' and means 'bay.'
